LANE KEEPING ASSIST (LKA)*

Lane Keeping Assist is designed to detect lane markings (or road edges) and may warn the driver if the vehicle leaves the lane without using the turn signal and may assist with steering to prevent the vehicle departing from its travel lane. When turned on, the Instrument Cluster indicator will initially illuminate white. It will remain white when the vehicle is traveling slower than 40 mph or when LKA does not detect the lane markers. When LKA detects the lane markers and can assist the steering, the Lane Safety icon will illuminate green.

If LKA detects that you are moving outside of your lane, LKA may provide steering inputs, trying to prevent the vehicle from moving outside its lane. If the vehicle continues to move outside of the lane, LKA may give a warning sound, a haptic warning and display Lane Departure Warning on the Instrument Cluster.

LKA Settings:

Press and hold the Lane Safety button or the Lane Driving Assist button to turn LKA on or off. You can also enable LKA in Vehicle Settings in the Infotainment System

Only adjust settings when the vehicle is at a standstill, gear shift is in Park and the ignition is on or the Engine Start/Stop button is in the ON position
To enable in Vehicle Settings in the Infotainment System – Press the SETUP key or the onscreen SETUP button. Press VEHICLE to enter Vehicle Settings. In Driver Assistance select Driving Safety and then Lane Safety

All systems will operate under the following conditions:

The vehicle speed exceeds approximately 40 mph
LKA recognizes one side of the lane markers the vehicle is traveling in
The vehicle is between the lane markers

When the front-view camera does not detect the lane traveling in, the lanes are gray.

When the front-view camera detects the lane traveling in, both lanes are white.

When the front-view camera detects the vehicle moving outside of the lane it is traveling in, the vehicle crossing line will blink, either on the left or right lane (as shown in both images above)

Quick Tips:

To adjust WARNING VOLUME: Press the SETUP button to go to VEHICLE SETTINGS on the Infotainment System. Press VEHICLE, DRIVER ASSISTANCE, and under WARNING METHODS, you can adjust WARNING VOLUME, and turn HAPTIC WARNING, LANE SAFETY AUDIBLE WARNING OFF and DRIVER SAFETY PRIORITY on or off.
Adjusting the Warning Time and Warning Methods or Volume will adjust settings for the other driver assistance systems

Reminders:

LKA may not detect lane markers in certain environment conditions
LKA will not issue a warning if the turn signals or hazard lights are activated
When the ignition is cycled, LKA will return to the previously set state

When engaged, Lane Keeping Assist is not a substitute for safe driving and may not always warn the driver if the vehicle is driven outside of its lane. Always drive safely and use caution.
