LANE KEEPING ASSIST (LKA)*

Lane Keeping Assist is designed to detect the lane markers on the road, and may assist the driver’s steering to potentially help keep the vehicle in the lane.

When turned on, the Instrument Cluster indicator will initially illuminate gray.

It will remain white when the vehicle is traveling slower than 40 mph or when LKA does not detect the lane markers.

When the front-view camera does not detect the lane markers, they are displayed gray.When the front-view camera detects the lane markers, they are displayed white

When LKA detects the lane markers and can assist the steering, the LKA icon will illuminate green.

If LKA detects the vehicle moves toward outside of the driving lane, it may provide steering assist to prevent the vehicle from moving outside driving lane.

If the vehicle continues to move outside of the lane and crossing lane marking, LKA may give an audible or haptic warning according to your selection and display a Lane Departure Warning on the Instrument Cluster.

When the front-view camera detects the vehicle moving outside of the lane being traveled in, a yellow marker will illuminate either on the left or right lane (shown in both images above)

If the vehicle continues to move outside of the lane, LKA may provide steering inputs, to help prevent the vehicle from moving outside its lane.

To turn LKA on or off, press and hold the Lane Safety button

LKA Settings:

  • To enable LKA, press the SETUP key/button on the Infotainment System. Select the VEHICLE button to enter the Vehicle Settings. Select DRIVER ASSISTANCE then LANE SAFETY.
  • Warning Methods: To adjust the Warning Methods settings, go to VEHICLE SETTINGS, DRIVER ASSISTANCE, and under WARNING METHODS, you can adjust the Warning Volume, Lane Safety Audible Warning Off and Driving Safety Priority

LKA will operate under the following conditions:

  • The vehicle speed exceeds approximately 40-120 mph
  • LKA detects the lane the vehicle is traveling in
  • The vehicle is between the lane markers.
Quick Tips:

Adjusting the Warning Methods will adjust settings for other driver assistance systems.

Reminders:
  • The images and colors in the Instrument Cluster may differ depending on the cluster type or theme selected from the settings menu
  • LKA will not issue a warning if the turn signals or hazard lights are activated
