LEADING VEHICLE DEPARTURE ALERT (LVDA)*

Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA), a part of DAW, is designed to monitor the driver’s driving pattern. If the driver’s attention level becomes low, DAW displays a message on the Instrument Cluster, “Consider taking a break,” and a warning sounds to recommend the driver to take a break.

If the vehicle is stopped, and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA) is enabled, when a detected vehicle in front starts to depart, LVDA can inform the driver sounding an alert and displaying a message on the Instrument Cluster.

LVDA Settings:

Quick Tips:

  • To adjust the WARNING VOLUME: Press the SETUP button to go to VEHICLE SETTINGS on the Infotainment System. Press VEHICLE, DRIVER ASSISTANCE, and under WARNING METHODS, you can adjust WARNING VOLUME, and turn HAPTIC WARNING and DRIVING SAFETY PRIORITY on or off
  • Adjusting the Warning Timing and Warning Methods or Volume will adjust settings for other driver assistance systems

Reminders:

  • Some driver assistance systems use a Haptic Warning, which alerts the driver by gently pulsing the steering wheel when certain conditions are detected.

*See LEGAL page for legal information. Certain features are available on select Kia models.

When engaged, Driver Attention Warning is not a substitute for safe driving and may not detect all instances of inattentive driving practices. Failure to pay attention to travel conditions and vehicle operation could result in loss of vehicle control. Always drive safely and use caution.
