LANE KEEPING ASSIST (LKA)*

Lane Keeping Assist is designed to detect the lane markers (or road edges) on the road with a front view camera on the windshield and may assist the driver’s steering to help keep the vehicle in the lane.

When turned on, the Instrument Cluster indicator will initially illuminate gray or green. It will remain gray when the vehicle is traveling slower than 40 mph or when LKA does not detect the lane markers. When LKA detects the lane markers and can assist the steering, the Lane Safety icon will illuminate green.

When the front-view camera does not detect the lane traveled in, the lanes are gray (above left). When the front-view camera detects the lane traveled in, both lanes are white (above right).

When the front-view camera detects the vehicle moving outside of the lane it is traveled in, the vehicle crossing lane will blink, either on the left or right lane (as shown in both images above).

If LKA detects that you are moving outside of your lane, LKA may give an audible warning and display a Lane Departure Warning on the Instrument Cluster.nIf the vehicle continues to move outside of the lane, LKA may provide steering inputs, to help prevent the vehicle from moving outside its lane.

Hands-off Warning

If the driver takes their hands off the Steering Wheel for several seconds, a warning message will appear on the Instrument Cluster.

LKA will operate under the following conditions:

LKA Settings:

Press and hold the Lane Driving Assist button to turn LKA on or offoff. You can also enable LKA in the Vehicle Settings in the Infotainment System.

Only adjust settings when the vehicle is at a standstill, gear shift is in Park and the ignition is on or the ENGINE START/STOP button is in the ON position.

Quick Tips:

  • To adjust the WARNING VOLUME: Press the SETUP button to go to VEHICLE SETTINGS on the Infotainment System. Press VEHICLE, DRIVER ASSISTANCE, and under WARNING METHODS, you can adjust WARNING VOLUME, and turn HAPTIC WARNING and DRIVER SAFETY PRIORITY on or off
  • Adjusting the Warning Timing and Warning Methods or Volume will adjust settings for other driver assistance systems

Reminders:

  • LKA will not issue a warning if the turn signals or hazard lights are activated
  • When the ignition is cycled, LKA will return to the previously set state
