SAFE EXIT ASSIST (SEA)*

Safe Exit Assist (SEA) can help prevent passengers from opening their door by sounding an audible warning and displaying a warning message on the Instrument Cluster LCD and outside rear-view mirror when your vehicle has stopped and a vehicle is detected approaching from behind.

In addition, when the electronic child safety lock button is in the LOCK position and a vehicle is detected approaching from behind, the electronic child safety lock button will not unlock even if the driver presses the button to prevent the rear doors from opening.

Quick Tips:

  • To adjust the WARNING VOLUME: Press the SETUP button to go to VEHICLE SETTINGS on the Infotainment System. Press VEHICLE, DRIVER ASSISTANCE, and under WARNING METHODS, you can adjust WARNING VOLUME, and turn HAPTIC WARNING and DRIVER SAFETY PRIORITY on or off
  • Adjusting the Warning Timing and Warning Methods or Volume will adjust settings for other driver assistance systems.

SEA may not detect all objects and the occupants should always be mindful of their surroundings

This feature may not be available on all Kia models. 

When engaged, SEA is not a substitute for one’s attention and may not detect all objects surrounding the vehicle. Always pay attention to traffic and to the area around your vehicle when exiting the vehicle.
