FORWARD/SIDE/REVERSE PARKING DISTANCE WARNING (PDW)*

While driving at low speed, Forward/Side/Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist is designed to detect pedestrians or objects and may warn the driver or assist with braking to help avoid a collision.  

Parking Distance Warning Auto On

To set the Parking Distance Warning Auto On, at low speeds, enable it in Vehicle Settings in the Infotainment System 

To enable PDW
  1. Press and hold the MODE button on the Steering Wheel. You can also press the SETUP key or the onscreen SETUP button.
  2. Press VEHICLE to enter Vehicle Settings.
  3. Select DRIVER ASSISTANCE, then
  4. PARKING SAFETY and
  5. Select PARKING DISTANCE WARNING AUTO ON

Quick Tips:

  • Warning Methods: To adjust the Warning Volume settings, go to VEHICLE SETTINGS, DRIVER ASSISTANCE and under WARNING METHODS, you can adjust the Warning Volume

Reminders:

  • If the vehicle is moving at speeds over 3 mph, PDW may not activate correctly 
  • When more than two objects are sensed at the same time, the closest one will be recognized first 
  • Adjusting the Warning Volume may adjust volume levels for other driving assist systems

When engaged, Forward/Reverse Parking Distance Warning (PDW) is not a substitute for proper and safe backing-up procedures. Always drive safely and use caution when moving the vehicle forward or in reverse. Forward/Reverse Parking Distance Warning (PDW) may not detect every object in front of or behind the vehicle.
