FORWARD/SIDE/REVERSE PARKING DISTANCE WARNING (PDW)*

When parking, Forward/Side/Reverse Parking Distance Warning (PDW) uses ultrasonic sensors to detect objects or pedestrians in front of, beside or behind the vehicle. When PDW detects that the vehicle is too close to an object or pedestrian, a warning will sound and an indicator will appear on the Instrument Cluster.

Press the Parking Safety button to turn off the PDW warning sound. Press the button again to turn the warning sound on.

Quick Tips:

  • To activate PDW from the Infotainment System, press the SETUP button, select VEHICLE, select DRIVER ASSISTANCE, select PARKING SAFETY, and select PARKING DISTANCE WARNING AUTO ON
  • To adjust the WARNING VOLUME: Press the SETUP button to go to VEHICLE SETTINGS on the Infotainment System. Press VEHICLE, DRIVER ASSISTANCE, and under WARNING METHODS, you can adjust WARNING VOLUME
  • Adjusting the Warning Methods or Volume will adjust settings for other driver assistance systems

Reminders:

  • If the vehicle is moving at speeds over 6 mph, the system may not activate correctly
  • When more than two objects are sensed at the same time, the closest one will be detected first

When engaged, Forward/Reverse Parking Distance Warning (PDW) is not a substitute for proper and safe backing-up procedures. Always drive safely and use caution when moving the vehicle forward or in reverse. Forward/Reverse Parking Distance Warning (PDW) may not detect every object in front of or behind the vehicle.
