Android Auto™ compatible smartphone setup

Wireless Connection setup for Android Auto™:
  1. Press the SETUP key on the infotainment system
  2. Press DEVICE CONNECTIONS
  3. Press PHONE PROJECTION
  4. Press ANDROID AUTO OPTIONS
  5. Press ENABLE ANDROID AUTO
  6. Then under DEVICE CONNECTIONS, press DEVICE CONNECTIONS again and ADD NEW
  7. On your smartphone, turn WiFi and Bluetooth® on, and select the Vehicle Name that’s on the Infotainment System screen
  8. Confirm the verification code
  9. When connecting to Android Auto for the first time, check the pop up window displayed on the Infotainment System screen and press YES. 
  10. On the smartphone, agree to Enable Android Auto™
  11. Go to the Infotainment System home screen and select Android Auto to see the Android Auto™ supported apps
Cable Connection setup for Android Auto™:
  1. Press the SETUP button on the Infotainment System
  2. Press DEVICE CONNECTIONS, select PHONE PROJECTION, select ANDROID AUTO OPTIONS and then select ENABLE ANDROID AUTO
  3. Connect the Android™ device with the vehicle’s USB port using the manufacturer’s cable provided with your phone
  4. From the vehicle’s home screen, select the Android Auto™ button, where you’ll see all the Android Auto™ supported apps
  5. Press the SETUP key on the Infotainment System
  6. Press DEVICE CONNECTION, select Android Auto™ and then select ENABLE ANDROID AUTO. Review all terms, conditions and requests on the head unit and phone, and, if you agree, accept them in order to use Android Auto™
  7. Connect the Android™ device with the vehicle’s USB port using the manufacturer’s cable provided with your phone
  8. When connecting to Android Auto™ for the first time, check the pop-up window displayed on the system and press YES. Agree to enable Android Auto™ from the smartphone
  9. From the vehicle’s home screen, select the Android Auto™ button, where you’ll see all the Android Auto™ supported apps

Quick Tips:

If Android Auto™ randomly disconnects:

  • Ensure the USB cable is certified by the phone manufacturer for both power and data
  • Clean the phone’s port, which the USB cable connects to, as instructed by the phone’s manufacturer
  • The phone should not be disturbed while driving as this can cause a disconnection at the phone’s USB port
  • Visit the Android Auto™ website for Android Auto™ app concerns

Reminders:

  • Android Auto™ compatibility requirements for connection: OS Android™ 5.0 or higher, phone manufacturer’s USB cable and data plan with applicable feature(s)
  • It is recommended to always update your phone to the latest operating system release
  • Wireless Android Auto™ system only works for certain Android models. Use the manufacturer’s USB cable when wireless feature is not available
