FORWARD COLLISION-AVOIDANCE ASSIST 2 (FCA2)*

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 is designed to detect a vehicle, a powered two-wheeler, a pedestrian, or a cyclist ahead on the road and may warn the driver of a possible collision with a warning message on the Instrument Cluster and a warning sound.

If FCA2 detects that the collision risk has increased, FCA2 may automatically brake or steer the vehicle to reduce the risk of collision .

- The system may detect an oncoming vehicle from an adjacent lane or through an intersection and automatically apply the brakes to help mitigate a potential collision.

Lane-Change Oncoming function may help avoid a possible collision with a detected oncoming vehicle when changing lanes by assisting the driver’s steering.

Lane-Change Side function may help avoid a possible collision with the vehicle detected ahead in the next lane when changing lanes by assisting the driver’s steering.

Evasive Steering Assist function may help avoid a possible collision with a vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist detected ahead in the same lane. When a risk of collision is detected, Evasive Steering Assist function will warn the driver and if the driver steers to avoid collision it may assist the driver’s steering. If FCA2 detects a risk of collision with a pedestrian or cyclist, it may warn the driver and potentially assist the driver’s steering.

FCA2 Settings:

FCA2 can be turned on/off by going to the Vehicle Settings in the Infotainment System
To access Vehicle Settings in the Infotainment System – Press the SETUP key or the onscreen SETUP button. Press VEHICLE to enter Vehicle Settings. Select Driver Assistance, DRIVING SAFETY, and select an FCA mode
Warning Timing – When in the DRIVING SAFETY menu, select FORWARD SAFETY Warning Timing and then one of the following:

– Standard

– Late: Reduces the amount of distance between the vehicles, before the initial warning occurs

FCA2 will become active when the:

Ignition is on or the Engine Start/Stop button is in the on position
Vehicle is traveling faster than 6 mph
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is on

Quick Tips:

To adjust WARNING VOLUME: Press the SETUP button to go to VEHICLE SETTINGS on the Infotainment System. Press VEHICLE, DRIVER ASSISTANCE, and under WARNING METHODS, you can adjust WARNING VOLUME, and turn HAPTIC WARNING and DRIVER SAFETY PRIORITY on or off
Adjusting the Warning Timing and Warning Methods or Volume will adjust settings for other driver assistance systems

Reminders:

Only adjust settings when the vehicle is at a standstill, gear shift is in Park and the ignition is on or the Engine Start/Stop button is in the on position
FCA2 will be activated by default when the ignition is cycled on, even when previous setting was off
FCA2 may warn the driver if the vehicle ahead is decelerating to turn or to drive over a speed bump
When FCA2 is off, the Forward Safety warning indicator is on in the Instrument Cluster
